The St Francis de Sales intergenerational luncheon club has developed into a listening and reading project. Year 2 have been reading to the older people on a one to one basis . Sister Eileen said " This is wonderful and we enjoy listening to the children reading and the school is so welcoming to us"
The children look forward to reading to the older people and talking about the difference between being young now and being young 70 years ago. Teresa who is 82 brought in a potato doll into class and said "When we were young we had lots of love but not much money. We made dolls out of potatoes and then dressed them up"
